Mustonen works wonders with the Shostakovich pieces, bringing plenty of colour, textural variety and expressive power to the plain-spoken keyboard writing.

Jed Distler, BBC Music Magazine, April 2004

Brilliant playing in a creative juxtaposition of Bach's sublime mastery and Shostakovich's painterly boldness.

Rob Cowan, Gramophone, February 2004
