Transfiguration - Camilla Nylund\
Listen to samples on selected tracks.
Transfiguration is Camilla Nylund’s much-awaited first album of arias. It captures the Finnish soprano's multi-faceted art with famous arias and scenes from operas by Richard Strauss and Richard Wagner, including the grueling final scenes from Tristan und Isolde and from Salome. These arias reflect the lyrical and dramatic facets of the acclaimed singer's current roles at such venues as Staatsoper Dresden, Vienna State Opera, and Bayreuther Festspiele. The Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra is here led by their chief conductor Hannu Lintu.
Booklet with liner notes in English, German and Finnish and the sung texts in the original German and in English translation
Any opera lover will enjoy this.
Michael Tanner, BBC Music Magazine, April 2011
Lars Hedblad, Svenska Dagbladet, 26.1.2011
Nylundin loistokas ääni ilmaisee Salomen roolin valtavat mittasuhteet kuiskaustenomaisista sävyistä kaikkein dramaattisinta voimaa vaativaan hehkuun. Sopraanon ääni myös taipuu loistavasti musiikin vaatimiin pitkiin linjoihin. Tekniikka on upeasti hallussa.
Harri Hautala, Aamulehti, 16.11.2010

He has been Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra 2009-2013, and also Principal Guest Conductor of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra in Dublin. Before assuming the new role of Chief Conductor of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra from 2013 to 2021, he was the orchestra's Chief Guest Conductor in 2012. Hannu Lintu was previously Chief Conductor of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra. He is a regular guest conductor with the Avanti! Chamber Orchestra in Finland and was Artistic Director of the orchestra's Summer Sounds festival in 2005.
